Ferrets are surprisingly clean animals, despite the fact that some people believe that they are messy and smelly. They are only smelly if they are not de-scented, which can be done at the same time that they are spayed or neutered. As for being messy, they groom themselves just like cats do. You only need to bath them once? a month or so.

i am so surprised!! my daddy said that if i get straight? a's for this quarter, he'll get me a ferret, xcept not for like a little while but still pretty soon. he said do u want anything 4 a reward & i was like a ferret he said i'll make that deal w/ u if its a little delayed!! so i am trying to get straight a's... right now i have only 1 B+ :( but i gotta get it up, so if anyone has tips... plz tell:) (to get straight a's) ty

They DO have to be supervised, otherwise they'll chew on things? they shouldn't (which can make them very sick). The only two colours they come in are albino and sable, different shades of sable are still sable.

You did answer to yourself. I have two ferrets and their poop don't smell at all cause I feed? them good FERRETfood. Ferrets aren't cat so they don't eat catfood. I suggest ferretfood called Totally Ferret. I guess your ferret didn't live full seven years? Catfood is reason for that too.

Many of the posters here are offering words of wisdom. I've had varying numbers of ferrets going on 20+ years. They are NOT good pets for children. They need to? be supervised when playing, for your home's protection and their own. Most ferrets nip when young, but can be quickly taught to stop. There is no 100% guarantee they will take to litter training (well), so accidents will happen. You will have annual emergency vet visits that can be around $100 a pop. Otherwise, great, loving pets.

This video, overall, is a joke. They come in MANY colors besides sable and white, they're not 'generally healthy,' they should NOT be bathed weekly (or that will make them smell? WORSE).... Ferrets are prone to adrenal disease, insulinoma, lymphoma, etc. It's NOT uncommon or rare AT ALL.

I agree with the supervision. I can't even stop for a drink without my ferret opening the hallway closets and hiding or knocking something over. It seems like harmless fun, but they could? get hurt playing around.

Ferrets are great animals? ^^ I have one...use to have two but he had to be put to sleep Jan 17th cause his adrainal gland disease had gotten so bad :(

I don't have any but have had them in the past and they? did have very stinky poo. I feed them cat food.

My ferret Scooter can rome sometimes.. he likes to get in the cabinets and hide my shoes and phone case.. if? its on the floor, its free game..

I have a ferret and i have never kept her in a cage, even when im not? home. AND She does not smell that bad, and ofc they DONT chew. Remember, they are NOT rodents!
